Marvel starts the ReEvolution (trademarked by Marvel, like any revolution worth a damn) with Uncanny Avengers #1, from Rick Remender and John Cassaday. Not a bad creative team, though Marvel’s hype machine has already made the whole ordeal insufferable. Why’d I buy it? Call it morbid curiosity.
Demon Knights gets to issue 13, against all odds since DC has an aversion to anything quietly humming along at a respectable pace without having an editorial mandate to make it XTREME to the MAX. I’m probably pushing my luck with this. Sean Murphy’s Punk Rock Jesus #4 also comes out from the Vertigo imprint, speeding along to its likely loony bin conclusion.
It’s kind of amazing that one of my favorite comics this year, the Mega Man one, is coming from Archie. Archie, for crying out loud, is putting out a more consistently good mainstream comic than 99% of what Marvel and DC publish!
Dark Horse and Image both got one purchase apiece from me this week: The Massive #5 and Halloween Eve from Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder. I have nothing snarky to say to that. Not a whole lot this week.
